An amazing and well run event to participate in. Great vibe, all the brands and some great eateries. My only gripe is the really poor fuel stations. One feed station (where you are allowed one bar and a handful of jelly babies) is really poor, when you compare it to other biking events where you pay less money (cough, Glorious Gravel). They could do with one at the bottom of stages 3 and 5, along with the Red Bull tent in its usual spot.

Riding on Sunday the conditions were not great but nothing to do with the organisers who put on a great event with great trails. If I was not entered to the event this would not stop me from returning as the demo loops are brilliant and would enjoy the day at the event with all that is on offer.

Ard Rock is a great experience for mountain bikers with experience. The trails are outstanding and well thought out. The expo is excellent, the stage is great and the food is varied enough. The organisers have done a too job of getting most of the things mtb riders need and want in place. Many riders have wives and children who tag along with us and the children's facilities are simply not good enough. Whilst my kids are happy having a lesson or two in the hope academy and my wife will make a parkour course using the measly number of hay bails left around more needs to be done. In fact when my wife made a house with the bails she was descended upon by 20 other children who were simply bored. The kids need some options ranging from a secure soft-play, a climbing frame / slide, a big kids craft tent, hay bale area (many many bails needed), tours of the adjacent farm (to see the animals & tractors), face painting, story reading, mini football pitch or musical opportunities on the stage. I’m not suggesting bringing a funfair in, but simple and cost effective solutions can be utilised to just make it a bit easier for weary racers & parents. All in all, a great festival, it just needs a little more for the kids. See you in 2024. S

Great event really enjoyed it. Just wish it was age categories. I’m nearly sixty and riding in Same category as twenty year olds
