There's always a great focus on local and 'next big thing' acts. All the gigs are in intimate venues so you are up close and personal. This makes the gig feel like you are at the beginning of the band's road to success and greatness. The fact that some bands are already on that path (great set of bookings, every year) makes it feel extra thrilling.

A fantastic event, and always try to go to suppoer Mencap if I can. Volunteered in 2017, so quite immersed in this well run event. BUT, i cant understand why there were only two real options from midday until about 4? Surely three venues would have been a minimum? The attendance felt high, and there wasnt enough options in the afternoon. Evening no problem. BTW i wouldnt bother with the programme ... save the money. just a timetable is all that is needed. Shame you cant use the Town Hall. 3 or 4 bigger names would really take the vent up to the next level.

Good to have this festival in Reading, could do with some bigger names on the bill & for most of the venues to open earlier in the day.
